Read the following scripture:
Acts 19
While Apollos was at Corinth, Paul took the road through the interior and arrived at Ephesus. There he found some disciples and asked them, “Did you receive the Holy Spirit when you believed?”They answered, “No, we have not even heard that there is a Holy Spirit.”
So Paul asked, “Then what baptism did you receive?”“John’s baptism,” they replied.Paul said, “John’s baptism was a baptism of repentance. He told the people to believe in the one coming after him, that is, in Jesus.” On hearing this, they were baptized in the name of Lord Jesus"
Don't be fooled, Ephesians 4:4-6 tells us that there is "one baptism".
"There is one body [of believers] and one Spirit — just as you were called to one hope when called [to salvation] —
one Lord, one faith, one baptism,
one God and Father of us all who is [sovereign] over all and [working] through all and [living] in all."
Our word baptism comes from the Greek word baptizo which literally means immersion.
Bible Baptism is full immersion in water. Acts 8:35-39
"Then Philip spoke and beginning with this Scripture he preached Jesus to him [explaining that He is the promised Messiah and the source of salvation].
As they continued along the road, they came to some water; and the eunuch exclaimed, “Look! Water! What forbids me from being baptized?”[ Philip said to him, “If you believe with all your heart, you may.” And he replied, “I do believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God.” ]
And he ordered that the chariot be stopped; and both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and Philip baptized him. When they came up out of the water, the Spirit of the Lord [suddenly] took Philip [and carried him] away [to a different place]; and the eunuch no longer saw him, but he went on his way rejoicing."
Bible baptism is also for multiple reasons.
Not just for the forgiveness of sin...
It is a death, burial and resurrection into a new life no longer purposed after the pattern of the world but instead purposed on God.
