Sunrise Services: You Are in Sin

You who participate in sunrise services are in sin. You are in direct violation of the biblical principle against adopting the worship practices of false gods and applying them to the true God.

Pagans rose before dawn and gathered to worship sun deities. Egyptians honored Ra. Babylonians worshipped Shamash. Romans served Sol Invictus with dawn ceremonies.

They centered their rituals on the rising sun believing it brought life and renewal after darkness. This was idolatry.

God forbids taking those pagan ways and using them to worship Him.

Deuteronomy 12:30-32 declares: Take heed to thyself that thou be not snared by following them after they be destroyed from before thee and that thou inquire not after their gods saying How did these nations serve their gods even so will I do likewise. Thou shalt not do so unto the LORD thy God for every abomination to the LORD which he hateth have they done unto their gods.

Ezekiel 8:16 records God viewing this as an abomination: men with their backs toward the temple of the LORD and their faces toward the east worshipping the sun toward the east.

Sunrise services reenact this exact pagan pattern. You gather at dawn using the same symbolism pagans once used for false gods.

Scripture nowhere commands or models any such practice. Churches have simply taken ancient false god rituals and redirected them toward Christ.

Second Corinthians 6:14-17 commands: Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers. Come out from among them and be ye separate saith the Lord.

You are reenacting the worship of false gods while claiming to serve the true God. This is sin. Repent. Abandon this practice immediately. Worship only according to the pure Word of God without any pagan mixture. The resurrection of Christ requires no borrowed heathen rituals. Continuing in this keeps you in open disobedience to Scripture.
