The Dead Battery
The Dead Battery
Think about a car battery. It’s designed to provide power to get the engine running and keep the vehicle moving. But if the battery is dead, it’s just taking up space under the hood. It’s not contributing to the car’s function, leaving the rest of the parts to work harder to compensate for what’s missing.
Now, consider church members who don’t participate. They attend but don’t engage—no serving, no volunteering, no active involvement. Like the dead battery, they’re present but not contributing to the power or progress of the church. This leaves others to shoulder the load, often leading to burnout and frustration among the faithful few who do step up.
Are you charging the church with your energy and gifts, or are you just along for the ride? Dead battery or power source—what role are you playing?
