The Great Fraud of Christianity versus the Radical Call of True Discipleship
The Great Fraud of Christianity versus the Radical Call of True Discipleship
Listen up, church. There is a massive, soul destroying lie being sold from pulpits, pews, and Facebook faith accounts every single Sunday. It is called Christianity, the comfortable, man made religious system that lets you keep your old life, slap a Jesus bumper sticker on it, and call it good. This is not the Gospel. This is a cop out. A counterfeit. A golden calf dressed up in nice clothes and polite prayers.
Christianity, the false system, tells you this. You can keep most of your life exactly as it is. Just tweak it. Reform the old man instead of killing him. Stay in the same career, same habits, same selfish ambitions, just add Jesus as a part time consultant. Go to church when it is convenient, say your prayers before meals, watch your language around the kids, and if the moment feels right, maybe drop a vague God bless you on a coworker. That is it. That is the whole program.
And the biggest lie of all?
"We are reaching people at our jobs!"
What a load of self justifying nonsense.
How many coworkers have you actually led to Christ over the years while you lived out your faith on the job? Zero? One? Two at most? Be honest. Nobody is coming to church with you. Nobody is getting saved in the break room. You are not in that secular career to reach people. You are there because you wanted that job, that paycheck, that lifestyle. The, "I will reach them at work" line is the same lazy excuse every profession uses. It is a get out of jail free card for people who do not want to obey the actual command.
And do not even start with that pathetic "I preach the Gospel with my life", garbage! How is that working out for you? Your example, your dirty rag righteousness, your half hearted compromises, your secret sins, is not leading anyone to Jesus. Faith comes by hearing the Word of God, not by watching you try to be a slightly better version of the world. The Bible does not say They will know you are My disciples by your subtle lifestyle witness. It says they will know by your love, the kind of radical, all consuming love that only comes when you have already died to yourself.
This is Christianity, the broad road that feels spiritual but leads straight to hell. You get to keep your life and make Jesus a polite add on. No wonder the world laughs at us. No wonder the culture mocks the church. We are not a threat. We are just like them with better morals on Sunday.
But true discipleship? That is something else entirely.
Jesus never said Follow Me but keep doing you.
He said:
"If anyone comes to Me and does not hate father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes even their own life, such a person cannot be My disciple". Luke 14:26.
He said:
"Any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple." Luke 14:33.
He said:
"Whoever wants to save their life will lose it but whoever loses their life for Me will find it." Matthew 16:25.
Discipleship is not a reformation. It is a crucifixion. The old life does not get improved, it gets buried.Everything becomes new.
New life.
New meaning.
New identity.
New priorities.
New career.
New everything.
You do not add Jesus to your plans. You burn the old blueprints and let Him write the whole thing from scratch. You leave the nets like Peter and Andrew. You walk away from the tax booth like Matthew. You sell it all and follow like the rich young ruler should have. No safety net. No but what about my 401k? No I will still keep one foot in the world just in case.
That is why the modern church is full of Christians and starving for actual disciples. One group is playing church. The other is being the church, the dangerous, world shaking, devil crushing body of Christ that turned the Roman Empire upside down with nothing but the Word and the Spirit.
So here is the question, straight and unfiltered.
Are you part of the false tradition of the world called Christianity? Or are you a disciple of Jesus Christ?Because only one of those paths leads to life. The other is just a comfortable lie with better music and coffee in the lobby. The choice has always been the same.Keep your life and lose it forever.Or lose your life for His sake and gain everything.
Choose...
